In October, Alacrity Foundation joined a 19-member delegation to China for the purpose of “exporting innovation” and further strengthening business relationships. The mission of this delegation is to expand and export Victoria’s innovation within the Chinese market.
The Chinese market presents enormous growth opportunities for new company creation, technology export and investment. I am excited for new possibilities as Alacrity opens a new office in Shanghai.
We look forward to building more partnerships that open the doors for Canadian tech companies. So far, Alacrity has already attracted $8 million from Chinese investors to local tech companies in British Columbia. With the announcement of opening a tech incubator fund in Shanghai, the new Alacirty office will also serve as an entry point for Canadian-based technology companies.
